The Mahaffey Leading Ladies is a vibrant group of philanthropic women who are passionate about supporting the arts and ensuring the Mahaffey Theater remains a cornerstone for culture and education in the St. Petersburg community. These dedicated individuals play a vital role in the theater’s mission by raising funds, volunteering their time, and advocating for arts accessibility.
Recently, one of the Leading Ladies made an anonymous pledge to match $200,000 in donations to the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts, significantly enhancing the foundation’s ability to support programs like Class Acts. This renowned educational program brings live performing arts experiences to local students, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts while aligning with classroom curriculum. Through live shows, workshops, and interactive festivals such as BAM! Festivals, Class Acts provides unique opportunities for students to explore creativity, culture, and storytelling.
